Instant Pot IP-DUO60 7-in-1 Multi-Functional Pressure Cooker, 6Qt/1000W Review
Up for review today is the Instant Pot IP-DUO60 7-in-1 6Qt/1000W Multi-Functional Pressure Cooker. This attractive and stylish cooker has a wide range of features which makes it exceptionally useful in the kitchen.
For instance, it has 7-in-1 functionality that makes it the best electric pressure cooker I’ve seen so far. It can be used not only as a pressure cooker but also as a slow cooker, rice cooker, saute pot, yogurt maker, steamer and yes, a warmer on top of it all. It also has 14 programmed settings that allow you to do everything from making soup and chili to porridge and poultry and is also good for steaming, pasteurizing and make both rice and fermented rice. Just about everything you would want it to do.
One of the features that many people rave about in the best electric pressure cooker reviews I’ve seen about this product is that is can also be adjusted to a high setting or a low setting. Setting this unit to high can reduce cooking times up to 70% over the regular cooking time. This especially useful for cooking tough cuts of meats or beans. And if you don’t need all of that power, then you can use the low-pressure setting. This will keep pressure sensitive foods such as eggs and fish from overcooking.
And unlike the stove top pressure cookers of the past, this unit is one of the safest units to operate thanks to its 10 proven safety features which include: safety lid lock, leaky lid smart detection, fuse cut off, high-temperature monitoring, automatic temperature control, anti-blockage vent, magnetic sensor for lid position and automatic pressure control. Safety features that help protect against the accidents of the past. It’s also UL and ULC compliant.
Another thing that really impressed me about this unit is that it not only had a fingerprint-resistant brushed steel exterior but that it also had a stainless steel pot and steam rack. The steel pot is not only scratch resistant, a problem I had with other types of electric pressure cookers, but also doesn’t allow odors to be transferred from one cooking project to the next—as long as you keep it well cleaned.
The only problem I had with the Instant Pot IP-DUO60 7-in-1 6Qt/1000W Multi-Functional Pressure Cooker is that it didn’t cook as fast as I would have liked it to have cooked. It took a little bit longer than I thought it would take. Sure, it was faster than just about every electric pressure cooker I’ve used, but it was still slower than a conventional stove top one.
However, all things considered, I thought this was a great product and one of the best electric pressure cookers I’ve ever used. I think it will be a welcome addition to just about any kitchen. It was safe to use, looked great, could do a bunch of different things and was a decent size.
